ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL ELECTED BEST CRUISE COMPANY FOR THE 15TH TIME

janeiro 14, 2010

Royal Caribbean International has been voted “Best Cruise Company” for the 15th time in Norway’s Grand Travel Award.

“We are very proud and humbled by the fact that the travel industry in Norway has, once again, given us this prestigious award,” said RCCL general manager Roar Meidal.
The annual travel industry award ceremony took place at the end of last week at the Radisson Blue Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo.

Operators and suppliers in a range of categories are short-listed by a jury of industry experts, with nominees then rated on a scale of between one and six by the country’s travel agents.
The results in the cruise category were:

RCCL 5,44
MSC 4,47
NCL 4,03
Carnival 3,68

“The competition gets tougher each year, and we do not take anything for granted,” added Meidal. “Being chosen by the trade’s own people is something we highly appreciate.

“This award, together with the increasing interest in cruise vacations from Norwegian holidaymakers, reinforces our desire to ensure that Royal Caribbean remains the best cruise experience in the market in 2010 and beyond.”

Meidal emphasized the importance of RCCL’s on-going support and cooperation with travel agents and said retailers had played a major part in making cruise a leading holiday choice over the last two years.

“Travel agencies across the country have made a great effort in promoting the quality, value-for-money and range of activities onboard our ships,” said Meidal.
